Refurbished 1940s Sideboard

This sideboard was acquired locally and originally belonged to the 70-year old seller's grandmother. She recalls that as a little girl she used to keep her toys in one of the compartments, so that she could easily find them when she visited her grandmother!

This sideboard was well-loved so needed a lot of work. The natural wood of the top two curved-front drawers and the decorative upper trim piece were stripped, sanded, and refinished with tung oil and Fusion's Stain & Finishing Oil in Natural. The remainder of the piece was painted a warm, creamy off-white: Fusion Mineral Paint in Cashmere. The original brass hardware was cleaned and reinstalled. The biggest change was that the handles in the middle of the bottom two doors were relocated and replaced with new era-appropriate brass knobs for improved functionality. [Artisan: ABP]
