This table was purchased from a local couple who got it from a great aunt. It was a generational family piece.
As this was a much-loved plant stand, the veneered tabletop surfaces were badly water damaged. So the entire piece was sanded and painted with Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis Paint in black, then sealed for durability. The lyre in the middle of the table - the defining feature of this classic antique - was sanded and stained a rich walnut brown. Then touches of gilt metallic paint were added to accentuate the details and lend a touch of creative sophistication. [Artisan: Liz]
