This bench was acquired locally from a woman who has had it in her family for many years.
Her two solid wood desktops were stripped, sanded, and stained a golden honey color. Her body was painted a complex, just-this-side-of-pink shade called "Red Rock" by Wise Owl, and gilding paint was used to accentuate the grooved channels of her scalloped edges. She was then sealed with furniture wax for a buttery soft finish. The brass hardware was cleaned and shined, and her seat was reupholstered with cotton batting, cotton muslin, and turn-of-the-century French fabric that is both rare and beautiful. [Artisan: ABP]
