This shadow box is one of the coolest, most unique pieces we've ever refurbished. It also is stunningly beautiful! Dating to the late 1800s, this shadow box features an ornate gilt frame and three spindle shelves for display. The frame was carefully cleaned then salved to restore its natural lustre, while the interior was treated to a newly-applied ebony stain to even out the original black finish that had been applied long, long ago. It is a showstopping display piece and is certain to be the focal point of any room it resides in.

This Victorian era shadow box was acquired locally from the estate of a former antiques dealer.
The gilt frame was very gently cleaned to remove dirt and grime, then sealed with Wise Owl Furniture Salve for protection and to restore its original lustre. The deteriorating wallpaper was carefully removed, then the interior was cleaned, sanded, and stained with Fusion Stain & Finishing Oil in Ebony to even out its orginial black finish. The spindles and wood shelves were cleaned and conditioned with salve as well. A remnant of the wallpaper was salvaged and framed as an homage. [Artisan: ABP]
