This set was acquired locally from a couple who had purchased it intending to refinish it, but never did.
Though we are advocates for retaining natural wood where possible, the red tones of the mahogany coupled with the nearly blood-red original stain meant that painting was the only option. To ensure that the paint finish matched their stately character, we chose a striking, inky blue-black: Wise Owl One Hour Enamel in Raven. The cushions, meanwhile, were replaced with fresh foam and batting, and upholstered in a fresh, creamy ecru textured fabric. [Artisan: CL, MP]
